1. Teachers must be involved in the planning, implementation and evaluation of professional learning experiences.
2. Professional learning happens in both formal and informal environments and nontraditional forms of professional learning (blogs, Twitter chats, Edcamps etc.) must be recognized as valuable learning experiences.
3. Teachers need time to pursue formal and informal professional opportunities.
4. Teachers are responsible for learning outcomes and must be able to demonstrate how their professional growth has impacted student learning.
